MINI Power Steering Cooling Fan R50/R53

The cooling fan for the power steering pump on the 2002-06 Mini Cooper sits right down underneath the engine. It couldn't be closer to the road. After a few years of use, it's very common for the bearings on this fan to clog and jam from road grit, sand, or salt. Once the fan stops working, the power steering pump can overheat and burn out. Replacement cost on the power steering pump is almost $700!!

Do yourself a favor, and replace your fan if it gets noisy or if it seizes up altogether. Installation is simple -- it's just two bolts directly underneath the car.

This part fits all Cooper and Cooper S cars 2002-2006, plus convertible models up through 2008.
