External Wastegate (for race turbo)
If you select the largest size turbo, you'll need an external wastegate to prevent your turbo boost from building out of control. The wastegate is the device that vents excess boost so the engine doesn't over-pressurize itself. An external wastegate can flow much more exhaust gas than the internal one. With the Race Turbo (Mitsubishi 20G), the external wastegate is mandatory. Note: The external wastegate outlet normally vents to atmosphere. This is definitely NOT STREET LEGAL.
