How Do I Install a Boost Gauge?

For a boost source for your new boost gauge, tap in (using a tee) to the line that goes from the intake manifold over to the fuel pressure regulator solenoid. Click on the photo above for a bigger view. The arrow shows the hose. (This picture is of a 95-99 car. 90-94 cars will differ slightly, but the idea is the same.)

Thread your vacuum line through the speedometer cable grommet at the fire wall. Make a little hole in the grommet; you should have plenty of room the snake the vacuum line through there.

You've got the right hose if you see vacuum AND boost readings at the gauge. If you only get one of the above, but not both, check your hose choice.

For power for the light, tap a spare space in the fuse box. There are usually one or two locations that have power when the car lights are on.
